History

King Khalid National Guard Hospital was commissioned in 1982.  The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince who demand the highest standards of health care has made this magnificent facility possible.  The hospital was officially opened on 31 May 1983 by the two driving forces behind the founding, King Fahad Ibn Abdulaziz and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

GRAND_MOSQUEHospital Layout

The main hospital is a very spacious floor structure.  Trimmed with marble and terrazzo, the hospital has a cool and quiet atmosphere

To enhance the tranquil surroundings, the central point of the hospital is a large garden patio with a fountain.  To break away from the usual hospital atmosphere, patients can recuperate in garden courtyards directly accessed from their rooms.  Other shared rooms, which do not have access into the courtyard, are still able to view the oasis of greenery, and flowers are changed periodically to reflect the season.

When entering the hospital the most prominent feature sighted is the mosque, with a gilded dome glistening in the sunlight.  Surrounded by lush trees and gardens and maintained by a high sophisticated irrigation system.

In keeping with the environmental movement of the Kingdom, the King Khalid Project is proud of the recycling programs, which are in place.  All the water for irrigation is recycled and paper and x-ray recycling programs are active.

However, the concept has been introduced on a limited basis, to serve as palliative care and pain control, at home services.

KFHBecause we believe faithfully in solidarity and sustainability, international consultants in the field of Healthcare Quality were actively involved in a needs assessment plan to launch our Total Quality Assurance and Improvement Program, through which each member of NGHA is committed to the highest standards.NGHA is successful in providing the lowest mortality and morbidity rates among the patient population despite the fact that the Emergency Care Centre continues to be the Level I trauma centre for the Kingdom.

Successfully, NGHA managed to found the College of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh where there are over 125 Saudi females enrolled in their Bachelor of Nursing Programs.

KFH-GardensAs NGHA is leading the evolution of healthcare systems, it has the privilege of operating the Misys Healthcare Systems (Per-Se’) Clinical Informatics System that will mainstream and standardize all the medical records documentation, and expedite processing requests to minimize the amount of paper wasted, through a virtual knowledge system. Indirectly it will also reduce the patient’s length of stay
